The Principality of New Masovia Recognizes Ukrainian Day of Unity

With the ever growing tensions along the Ukrainian border, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Monday called on the country's people to fly flags and sing the national anthem in unison on Feb. 16, a date that some Western media say Russian could invade.

In a show of support, HRH Prince David announced today that the Principality of New Masovia will be joining with Ukraine by flying a Ukrainian Flag today in the Royal Palace, and on social media channels, to help spread awareness of the crisis. In a royal decree, Prince David has announced February 16, 2022 as, "Ukrainian Day of Unity" within the Principality of New Masovia.

Both the State Department and the Prince himself have been following the current Ukraine crisis closely since Russian troop buildup began in November of 2021. Prince David noted that as descendants of Poland, New Masovia shares a common heritage with the people of Ukraine. Earlier today he said, "Today we show our support with our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. We deplore any threats of violence or war against this sovereign nation, and call for deescalation and meaningful diplomacy."
