As Tropical Storm Henri approaches the region, it is expected to make landfall in neighboring Connecticut as a Category I hurricane, the first since Hurricane Gloria in 1985. By order of the Prince, the Government of New Masovia has issued the following statements:
1) Effective 7pm on Friday, August 20, 2021, the Department of Meteorology has activated its weather station, and will remain active until the storm leaves the area. Regular weather observations will be collected and reported at least every 12 hours with increased frequency as needed.
2) Citizens should use Saturday to prepare. With wind gusts expected to be up to 75mph, widespread extended power outages are likely. People should have enough food, water, and medications on hand, and should expect to shelter in place beginning Sunday afternoon until at least Monday morning.
3) Non-essential businesses are advised to close on Sunday.
4) New Masovian naval vessels are ordered to remain in port until further notice.
5) The government will utilize local media channels, including The Micronational Telegraph and Skeeter Radio, to issue further guidelines. Citizens are advised to stay tuned to local news as the situation unfolds.
